    Single Speed racing shenanigans?? Ideas??

Say I was organising a SS race... and looking for ideas...

What are some of the best and worst features that you have encountered at SS races??

Le Mans starts and beer shortcuts are pretty par for the course, but I am looking for any ideas etc to make the SS race more fun

Anyone willing to ride a lap (or two) without their seat/seatpost gets x-amount of time taken off?

Nice! Actually for the course that is in mind it probably would make no difference to actual riding time, but is a great idea!!

    Keep the ideas coming!

In keeping with the fixie/townie notion: ridiculously skinny bar time bonus.

    Twinkie hand-ups.

ridiculously skinny bars would be a definite handicap... there is some hard out singletracks planned.

    What is a twinkie hand-up??

    Yo eddie...lmfao

Yes, it's code, er no, I mean yes it's like a feed zone. Riders have to eat something, or a portion of it, when they come through the zone. Hot dogs work, too.

This doesn't apply to you, but the most fun race I've ever done was the Icebike race here in Winnipeg. Think frozen rivers, ice trails, snow, and extreme cold. But apparently that's not an option for you fellas in Berkeley.

    Perhaps some odd obstacles...

-like a set of tires to run through

    -a rope swing short cut

    -a cargo net

after every lap run 50 feet and kiss something on the bum. preferably a statue/manikin. my personal favorite was at the cow patty regatta, when you got to the end of the course before turning around you have to get out of your kayak and kiss a styrofoam cow on the booty.

oh don't forget lots of belgian brews!!!!!

when i think of something elsa i will enlighten everyone.

to go along with this rope swing short cut you have to swing over a brook or a pit full of snakes in one shot bike and person!
Bonus point if its possible to ride away with out ever getting off bike!

Have a couple extra bikes on course, when you get to one you have to abandon yours and ride it leaving yourbike for the next person. It could be a hoot with tall people, short people, gearing diff, seatpost hight, wheel size, bar width...

    Probably not feasible.

    A. I don't want somebody possibly crashing my bike.
    B. What happens when someone with SPD shoes tries to get on someone else's bike with Candy's or something else?
    C. How do you ever get your own bike back (during the race)?
