    single speed disc wheel

    can someone point to a site selling single speed rear disc wheels ...cheap.

    and can i use an LX crank or do i need a single speed crank.

    this is a biuld for my girlfriend so we can putt around town...nothing fancy

    if you want cheap the best option is just to use a conversion kit on a normal geared hub. Heck, I'm using a conversion kit even on a fancy-pants geared hub

    ok...that sound good than i can get a cheap matched set.....is there a kit you can recommend......and the crank can i just use the LX crank.

    LX crank would be great, but I will suggest getting an SS-specific ring (thicker, taller teeth, no shift ramps). Price point sells the Blackspire Mono Veloce ring for ~$25 and those are great. There are plenty of other options too

    As far as kits go, the spacers are all pretty much the same. Don't get the ones with only 2 big spacers since you won't be able to adjust chainline, but for the rest it doesn't matter. Some people even scavenge spacers from between cogs on old cassettes or cut spacers out of PVC pipe. Make sure the kit comes with a lockring as that won't come with the wheel.

    Are you looking for a tensioner too?

    does this look like most of what i would need......im hoping i can order everything at one time....because we are in africa and shipping gets to be a pain.

    im also ordering theses .....not a singlespeed frame but i think it should work fine

    i will have CRC install the headset and BB like i did in iraq .....save me from have to buy or make tools...they only charged me 10 bucks.

    If you're plan was to build a single speed around a handful of components, it's always cheaper to buy a complete bike.
