    New question here. Sidepull?

I've got a sweet old cruiser frame I want to convert. The problem is the brakes. It's an old CCM, so it's got cheap as sh*t sidepull brakes. Is there something decent I can replace them with? Should I just go fixee? Is there any way to put on a different brake system, either through wacky attachments or welding?

The stem is a 1" quill setup, so I doubt replacements are easily had in the fork department. If I'm stuck going fixee, not that I mind, does anyone have any dirt-cheap fixed hubs or wheelsets to sell (26" wheels).

    1" forks

Nashbar has forks for 1"steerer, I know they have a MTB suspension fork, it's cheap, but its not very good. There should be many sources for 1" ridgid forks with canti studs or disk tabs if you look around.
