I inherited mine from my grandmother. She found it in her barn and had it restored before she passed away.

    Here are a few shots:

Here ya go. Take one old mountain bike, SS it, put some cruiser bars and a fat saddle on it and voila - cruiser. Much better than some souless store-bought cruiser.

    Orange County chopper

This is a fun bike I saw online a few weeks ago. I actually use my old American American as a city bike.

unfortunately not used as much as it should/could be. The frame w/fenders, fork, steel wheelset, saddle and bars were all given to me at a bike swap because I inquired. The guy wouldn't even take $5, he was just happy he wouldn't have to load it back up. I added the basket and rear rack and bolted the crate to the rack.

for cool, new bikes also look into Electra's townies and cruisers. http://www.electrabike.com/home.html

Same here! They're Schwinn wannabes from the early 70's, purchased by my parents. I've only restored the guy's bike so far.

    Right outta the trash...

Kinda funny, riding this POS sometimes brings a bigger smile to my face than a megga bling bling.

    What'r those bars?

Cool bike. I have a cruiser I found being given away free at the end of someone's driveway. Finished the repair work and it's great fun. Will post pic soon. I've been looking for bars like you have there. Where'd you get 'em? My stem has a really small clamp, which limits bar choices, but I'd like to find something like that.

    my do it all fixie...

hopefully my new girlfriend will be getting more and more addicted to riding. she is just getting back on the saddle after a bad crash over a year ago while on the trails...
i am going nice and slow with her; in every sense of the word, though she is way stronger than she thinks!
she likes riding her mtb on the road, so hopefully that will open a window of opportunity for a cool "grocery getter" and we can hit the town! time will tell...

    A few of'em

After I went to Crusty Butt in '96 I've had a sort of beater addiction The Fugi Monterey is my commuter, the rest are grocery getters and bar fly rigs.

Call me crazy but my bar bike is that brand new fat chance I been workin on. It'll be done tonight. All I have left to do is install the rear brake and wrap the handlebars.

'49 Schwinn Mutt - bought it out of some guy's backyard for $50 and built up a new set of wheels for it - it's kind of like pedalling a Caddy (in the sense that it takes nearly as long to stop it as it does to get it moving )

    It's not a cruiser but it's a townie...

... sorry for being so abstract, it's the bike in the front, it's an old picture and I still don't have working camera. Unlike the other bikes so far here, this doesn't exactly have a cruisey handlebar, it's an 18" flat bar with bar ends.
