Should I go all the way?

    My bike line-up currently includes:
    Fisher hardtail
    Surly Pacer road bike
    Surly Cross-check 3x8
    Surly Karate Monkey 1-speed

For the past several months I haven't touched my geared Mt. bike, with the expection of one ride, and I couldnt' get used to shifting.

I use the road bike when I'm doing group road rides.

I ride the cross check when I'm specifically trying to take it easy

But most of the time if I'm either going off-road or doing solo gravel road rides I've been riding my single speed.

Most of my "good" parts are on that Fisher hardtail, but lately I"ve been tempted to canibalize it and put the good stuff on my single speed (except for the derailers!)

What do you think, should I do it? Am I going to regret not having a geared mt. bike?

    Are you ready?

Is she ready? Do you use protection?

Hell, I haven't ridden my Fuel in prob 2 years, can't even remember the last time I rode it. I often wonder the same thing.

    Good job!

My Tracer has been in an unridable heap due to parts swap for some time now and I've yet to feel bad about it. Do it,you might as well use those parts for something.

Do it. If you miss the geared Fisher you can always build it back up. You've got nothing to lose.

    I did it....

It feels really good. I keep telling myself that I will build up my other frame as a gearie but it hasn't happened yet and don't see it happening this season. I spent all of last season riding a subpar single speed wile my 27speed beauty sat collecting dust. If you have nice stuff don't let it go to waste, CONVERT!

Wink Keep it all in the family

You could strip the Fisher and build a Surly 1x1 and have full house!
