Should I convert to Singlespeed ?

I have an old Bianchi Forte which is a decent frame for the price. It used to have a 3×6 setup which I changed to a 1×7 and I like it okay but Idk. I wonder if the re sail value would go down or up. The chainline would be adequate and the chain tension wouldn't be so bad either... Thanks

Resale value is irrelevant. Fun value is everything. Go singlespeed and never look back.

Do you have an innate desire to tell everyone you don't need gears even when they didn't ask? To you hold similar feelings of inflated self importance like a vegan? If so then sure go single speed.

Or maybe people do what they like and you're the one with the "feelings of self importance" ?

The conundrum vegans face is that there's a stereotype that vegans (and single-speeders, cross-fitters, triathletes, engineers, etc) can't enter a conversation without telling people about that part of their identity. you also can't call out others for living up to that stereotype without identifying yourself as a cohort and therefore also becoming a stereotype. so to avoid living up to the stereotype, they can't talk about it at all. so if your lifestyle has some cultural baggage associated with it, you just can't win.

His bicycle and trail of mud along with the kale and random truck tires reveal everything needed.
