    Scottish Single Speed Championships results

    Female:
1 Jac Strachan (Race No 21) - also won the Dawn Raid 100 challenge by beating all the gearies in the Dawn Raid on her single speed.

    Male:
1 Falk Schlaghecke (Race No 15) - what's a German doing winning a Scottish race?
2 Chris Bryant (Race No 1) - also won the prize for best UK production bike result
3 John Maclean (Race No 40) - also won the prize for most beer consumed during race.
4 Chris Marquis (Race No 22) - also won the prize for the longest sleep
5 Brian MacLeod (Race No 6) - also ancient relic prize, ie over 40s.

    Junior u/16:
1 Isabella MacLeod (Race No 7)

The race was held at Golspie last weekend. Just a wee jaunt in the mountains - 12 hours overnight - and black descents for the first lap (approx 20kms). Beer was drunk, bikes were broken, bodies were bruised, fun was had.

The Dawn Raid photographer took some photos. The first 4 photos are SSSC winners - you can probably work out who is who.

Thanks to the organisers of the Dawn Raid for allowing us to run our race in conjunction with theirs.

No - our race was run simultaneously with the Dawn Raid, and the photos were taken by their photographer, so most of the photographs will be of fairy cycles.

(There's no way we could have afforded to run a 12 hour race otherwise - no sponsorship - we paid for it all ourselves - all entry fees went to the Dawn Raid organisation.)

We took cable cutters in case we could make some conversions during the race...
