Smile Roll Call: Post your Surly!!

I'm getting a "byklvr" build, S.F. Bay Area mechanic/guru, and would like to see some pics to get ideas on what works/doesn't work.

    Peace!

p.s. "byklvr" as in the mechanic/guru/builder/site member...just google "byklvr" and see what he's all about!

I saw it on another post, but these pics are better. Nice.

sidenote to Rivet...why you gotta harsh? Do you do that in almost every reply you post, or do your posts just read that way. See for yourself, don't be a tool.

Oh, and yeah, that post, that guy. How do you think I got the frame/fork!

I rode it for the first time yesterday, and it's like butta'. It felt tight and solid on the big climbs. I'll post more as I get to know it, but so far, a big thumbs up.

If the users didn't police this place from people like you spamming it'd be one big ad space. If you spent ANY time on this forum( what do you have like three posts) you'd know that everybody reports spammers like you. I just happened to be the first to read your last spam post. There is a reason your last post was deleted.

Whatever. So you fancy yourself a cop, huh. Try to relax a little, and leave the guy alone. In the future try to actually post relevent stuff and enjoy the site like the rest. Some people actually visit the site a lot and never register until it seems worth it. It seems like you like to rule over the rest of us and play vigilante, and give the wrong impression, thus making others not want to be a part of this community. Maybe try to work on your opening approach a little and ask someone to explain their post, rather that cut their throat and stick your foot in your mouth like you did. Sugar's sweeter than vinegar.

    just my opinion.

The thing is most forum members really appreciate what Francois and Gregg( the owners) have done with their websites and feel it's good to give back in the way of $2.00 classifieds when we want to sell stuff. It's fine to spam something your selling, just buy a classified and link to it from your post. This is pretty standard knowlwedge for forum users. I've attached some examples.

The WI freewheel is awesome. A tiny bit noisy, but I don't mind too much (the coyote I saw today didn't seem to mind either ) .

Thanks, I did all the paint work. I used acrylic paints, made for painting metal and glass, then used a clear coat over that. I used a combination of brown, black and white.

... and if we just ... Kallisti...you're making us jealous with the Blinglespeed...

OK, so obi-one's been waiting to see this...

    " picture of Black 1x1 singlespeed "

haa, haa, haaa! Fooled you. I just got back from a late time maiden voyage. It's "Sleeping".

-Don't be mad, I'll post a picture tomorrow.
-I gotta come up with some sort of Singlespeed/Latin/Stealth-Ninja sort-of name...
    `~Black-Jacket...protection associated name(flac jacket's are black too.)
~ApenasUnoNoMas!...(spanish for "just one, no more")
~Oxidado...think I might go with this one!...Spanish for Rusty-it's replacing my Rust
    colored Kona Roast frame.
    ~Uno por Uno...Spanish for 1x1

Any ideas here? I gotta name it, I always name my bikes, and this one hasn't come to me yet.

p.s. It's really great and reassuring that I could refer someone to this site and he'd get such a strong responce/outpouring!

No pics exist of my Pacer, will have to take some soon now that I have a camera.

The one of my KM showing was right after I first built it up, feb 2003.

Cross-Check sees mostly road mileage on fat slicks, I may put the skinnie knobbies back on for next saturday's regional CX champs, where it would be a spare bike. Good thing it's only like 6mi to get to the course, I'm going there by bike...
BTW, Cross-Check deserve a bar with some flare, I wish I had gotten a Salsa Bell Lap for it, like I had put on the Pacer already.

Next Surly project : I must have a Pugsley, not sure for what riding, but I NEED it.

Here is a picture of my newest bike, the Pugsley. I haven't gotten in all the parts yet, but I should be ordering them within the next few days. I plan on running both a geared and SS hub on it, but I'll be running it as a SS initially.

New question here. Definitely some wonderful rides everyone!! Paint Advise Sought...

So, who out there has ever gotten one painted "just the right color". After getting relayed the information on what is/isn't covered under Surly's warranty, I'm considering having my paint stripped and a nice shade of blue applied. I understand that if it's powdercoated, the painter has to be careful of the cure temperature and time in/type of oven. I also understand the value of powdercoat, but what about a laquer spray? Anyone who's had this done, even not this paticular brands bike, please let me know of your good/bad experience(s) and what I'm "getting myself into". Post some pics so I can drool too!!

    Thanks,
