    Rigid On-one Inbred

I've seen a bit of dicussion on this topic, but am interested in more specifics. While I would LOVE to get a ti fork, it is not a possibility (I am almost broke from building the bike up). I have a MX Comp right now, but I am craving the feel of a rigid fork (My first MTB was a Trek 6000 from about 1993). The forks that I am considering are (more info. at webcyclery.com):

    1) Dimension disc specific; (410mm axle to crown) and nice and cheap.

    2) Planet X Superlight (does anyone know if this is the same as the Inbred fork); (420mm axle to crown) sweet design, fairly cheap, nice color

    3) Instigator fork; (447mm axle to crown) cool fork, probably burlier than I need, cool company.

I would like to get a fork w/ straight blades, but it is not necessary. I really like the Vicious Fork, but it is out of my budget.

    Thanks for the help.

You've got 3 very different forks on your list!

At least the Instigator fork is much different than the other two. It might, however, ride the most like the suspension fork that you're replacing in terms of ride height. Of the three, I'd recommend the Planet X. I'm not sure if it's the same as the On-One fork but the 5 piece crown looks cool. I have one of the Kniffen forks (definitely not light) and I like it a bunch. Are you putting this on an On-One frame? If so, go with the Planet X...it will compliment the wishbone stays of your frame.

Just asked Brant @ On-One this myself -- the Inbred and Planet X Superlight forks are one in the same.

Thanks for the advice. I dig the look of the Planet X/On-one forks, too.

Go with the Planet X/On-One fork.

    1. Great CS
    2. Great price.
    3. Brant supports MTBR (gave swag at last year's downieville gathering...a FRAME!)
    4. Would match your frame.
