    Ride The RIG

So I rode singlespeeds exclusively for years and loved it.
    <a href="https://s936.photobucket.com/albums/ad204/nateblankenship/bianchi%202/?action=view&amp;current=DSCN0312.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad204/nateblankenship/bianchi%202/DSCN0312.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

But something triggered in me that I needed a more aggressive setup and got full suspension with gears. I have gone through 3 now in the last 6 months.

Santa Cruz Bullit (7 inch bike):
    <a href="https://s936.photobucket.com/albums/ad204/nateblankenship/Santa%20Cruz%20Bullit/?action=view&amp;current=DSCN2126.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad204/nateblankenship/Santa%20Cruz%20Bullit/DSCN2126.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

    Sette Flite (6 inch bike)
    <a href="https://s936.photobucket.com/albums/ad204/nateblankenship/?action=view&amp;current=fed3cb11.png" target="_blank"><img src="https://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad204/nateblankenship/fed3cb11.png" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

    GT I-Drive 5 2.0 (5 inch bike)
    <a href="https://s936.photobucket.com/albums/ad204/nateblankenship/?action=view&amp;current=97866f18.png" target="_blank"><img src="https://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad204/nateblankenship/97866f18.png" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Great fun and all but I was ALWAYS wiped out near the end of the and after a ride.
The full suspension is cool and squishy. Gears were there and I could get into granny gear and climb pretty steep stuff but whenever you MASH on the pedals, the rear shock soaks 75% of your energy, killing all momentum.
Also knowing what gear to be in before a climb or shifting late while climbing, I could never get down.
Fast forward to what I know best, singlespeed hardtail (now 29er) 2011 Trek RIG.
    <a href="https://s936.photobucket.com/albums/ad204/nateblankenship/?action=view&amp;current=8a614f4a.png" target="_blank"><img src="https://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad204/nateblankenship/8a614f4a.png" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
    <a href="https://s936.photobucket.com/albums/ad204/nateblankenship/?action=view&amp;current=06e5b2b8.png" target="_blank"><img src="https://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad204/nateblankenship/06e5b2b8.png" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Mind you I did have 2 cups of coffee before the ride.
I was shot out of a cannon yesterday, just like the old days. I could mash like no other up the hills and have all my momentum to descend. Before (full suspension) I got up, then was too pooped to enjoy the down.
The 29 inch wheels and the G2 geometry really make you feel like you have full suspension. Just rolls over everything almost without any feedback.
    Awesome to say the least.
Selling off the last of my geared bikes now (GT) and will not stray again.
Here's a vid from the first ride yesterday:

Thanks for allowing me back in the club. (fingers crossed)

I've always liked them Rigs. Great value for the money.
You should now try clipless to consummate your SS experience.

Nice vid, mang! Both bike and trail looks like a blast to ride.
Trying to win hearts and minds, but willing to stomp them if necessary.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys.
Noosa2, it's in the Pima and Dynamite trail system in Scottsdale AZ.
Specifically, numbers 15 and 16 on this trail map:
I just moved here (to AZ) from San Diego and am lucky enough to have trails a plenty, right outside the front door.
