Ride Report with the Kiddo andů

    Burley trailer.
OK, here is the set up: On-One Inbred with 32:18 and Psylo SL (80-120mm), and Fire XC Pros pumped to 50 psi. Urban ride around Salem, Oregon on Saturday with our son Ian and a brief layover at a coffee shop I will leave nameless (green goddess in the logo, hey I had a gift card!). The trailer was easy to pull and the On-One felt just right (even with the low gearing for flat urban conditions). Ian enjoyed the ride very much, laughed occasionally at the periodic bumps that caused the trailer to hop a bit. All in all Ian is very compliant and has not put a significant dent in our active lifestyle. He enjoys xc skiing as well.

    Thanks for reading,

    Mike

    I wish I had a picture

of me towing my youngest through an 18" creek crossing in hers, mud totally obscuring the plastic "windshield", LHAO. She was probably about 3yo by then...

    He's small enough..

we could pack several 6-packs of Guiness in the trailer and hit the birthday venue (down in a park) early. Beer, after all, is not just for breakfast.

Hey Cool, I've got an Ian too! You are getting him off to a good start.

Very many good things to look forward to.

    Cheers.

    Very nice!

So, was this the turnout you got for your Dallas invite? Looks pretty good to me. I'll make it down there sooner or later.

    Cheers,
    Tim

    My kid set-up

Riding with kids is a blast. Here is what I did to get on the trails with mine. I took a BOB trailer, bolted a Topeak baby seat into it (the one with springs in the base to help smooth things out for little Max), fit a custom cut cardboard in front to cut down on the dust and off we went. It rocked off-road single track, fire roads, everything. Max rode in this from about age 4-6 until he outgrew the seat. Now he fits on the back of my tandem.
