I just stripped the parts off my 2010 Cog 29er and it is at the powder coater right now getting almost the exact same color. My color is called spring blue. This picture confirms I made the right choice. Very nice looking.

The stock blueish dark gray never did it for me and I thought all the stickers made it look busy, I was thinking of getting the black redline decals from amazon and using for the down tube only.

    What year is your flight?

That's a really clean and original looking setup! I love the headbadge, too. I suppose it's a custom one, right?

    Amazing!

That is one sharp looking bike and great job on selection of the color. That color is one of those that if someone would have mentioned it without me actually seeing it on the bike, I would never have thought it could look so good.

Got if off Ebay, seller said it's from between 1900-1910. I thought it would be different and unique!

Really nice bike. I am curious about your wheelset. Stock hoops? How are they holding up? What is your crank?

I have an 07 Flight. Sweet rides, thems are.

Yeah, the wheelset hasn't gotten much attention yet, mainly due to funding issues. In all honestly though, I kind of like them. They are most solid and have served me well so far. I guess the only benefit to an upgrade would be weight savings. The cranks are some early 90's Sims, I've never seen any others like em. From what I've read John Grafton had a role in their design...

I'm curious as to what hardware you're using in the dropouts. It looks like a nice upgrade.

It's the stainless steel hardware from Paragon Machine Works, the same folks who make the sliding dropouts for many of your custom made frames. I'm still using the Redline dropouts though because I wasn't sure the Paragon ones were the same. The hardware was all the same though, much nicer than the stock stuff

The titanium hardware I bought didn't fit my '07 Flight. I think the M6 bolts worked, but the tensioner bolts didn't. I'll have to check it out again.

Nice build! Really like the color! I'll need more info about the rear dropout hardware. Expect questions. The wheels are Laserdisc trails?

Wow, looks really nice. I have been back on forth as to what I am going to do with my GT Peace. I have thought about just keeping it and getting it coated black but when I look at the welds and some of the tube joints, I just can't bring myself to do anything to this frame. I don't mind adding the parts to it as they can be crossed over but the frame is lacking a bit. So far it has held up well and I liked the color when I bought it but now I just want black. Also can't decide if I want to make the 29er switch yet. More and more it is growing on me though.

    Looks awesome!

Do it! keep your GT, though. If you don't mind used, look for them right now, as I see some going for pretty cheap. There is an 08 Flight 29er by me that the guy is asking $500, but been listed for 3 weeks with no action.

You can then do your own write up of 26 vs 29 battle.

what does yours weigh? Any did you strip anything off to make it lighter...
I will make the decision down the road to either strip the frame to put everything on the SOMA or just ride it the way it is and build the SOMA as a 1x9...thoughts?

As it sits it weighs right about 26lbs...I know, that seems heavy. I've changed out pretty much every component except for the wheelset and I'll change those out when the funds are available. So, even though I upgraded to better quality pieces I'm not sure I dropped that much weight from stock...

anything new always makes the scoot ride lighter and faster..
didn't realize the BB7's are stopping 203's until I picked it up..

Beauty of a ride, and if I strip the 'cog down, it will be powdered orange

Thanks, I considered one of your chainrings in a nice "mango/orange" but I kinda like the "REAL" one I already had on there....maybe a two piece cog in the future though!
