    Question from a SS Newbie

I am considering the pursuit of SS.

Is it possible to take a regular hardtail frame and convert it to SS? Or is it better to just get a SS dedicated frame?

If it is possible to convert a regular frame into a SS, what gadgetry do I need?

    Thanks in advance.

start with the conversion. It can be done very cheaply, and you will learn alot from building and riding it. Once you have that experience, you will be able to figure out what you really want/need/can afford. See the FAQat the top to the right of the page.

If you go full blown with the SS bug and like your frame too much, I suggest the ENO hub. Eccentric hub keeps the tension nicely put on your drivetrain.

Just click on my singature to explore the ENO

Definitely second the ENO. Best investment in simplicity I ever made.
