    Question from a newb

Just picked up my first SS a used Bianchi SASS. First thing I did was replace the chain and now there is a clunk sound when pedaling. Too much tension? Not enough? The chain is a pc1 with powerlink.

check the tension, it sounds like it may be too loose causing it to want to try and skip off of the cog

When checking tension I do it my way. I am sure there is a real way that will be posted here soon- but I check the chain and adjust it to just before I can physically lift it off the big ring and pedal the chain off. Too loose, it falls off naturally. Too tight will ruin a freewheel or converted hub's freewheel. When too tight it can also cause a click/crack type noise on pedal down stroke which comes from the hub area too. Hopefully that helps! Oh and if tension seems good, check what ever is holding the front and rear sprockets in place. My rig had a rear cog nut come loose during a ride yesterday!
