Question for aluminum Bianchi SS owners?

Do they have clearance for ultra wide tires? Like 2.7 x 26 or even 3.0 x 24?

I have a PUSS with a 650B conversion. The tire is a 2.1 Fire XC Pro. The width is about 54mm at the widest knob. I have about 4-5mm clearance with the wheel all the way forward in the drop outs . If I pull the wheel all the way back its about 7-8mm. Hope this helps.

I used to have a GUSS. A 2.1 was about the max with a little room for mud.

errr,,,uhh....didn't know they made aluminum SS's. I had two SASS's and currently riding a MUSS, I have used both WTB's 2.3 Mutano Raptor and 2.5 Weirwolves (the original design).

BASS, BOSS, SISS, SASS, PUSS, GUSS, MUSS...where is the aluminum frame in this group? Which models am I missing?

Search for a thread "Bianchi secret codes" (or something like that), several of us hunted down the model names and materials and posted them there.

Here, the thread was easy to find, so I did http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=370194

WUSS as well. I think all the *USS's are aluminum. My PUSS most certainly is, as is the GUSS and WUSS. The SASS and BASS are steel.
PUSS stands for pink ultralight single speed

Bianchi DISS with 2.4 mutanoraptors F/R. There seems to be room to go up a few sizes.

Incorrect. I have the MUSS and its steel. Bob pointed out the Secret Code thread, we’ve broken down all the names and material types there.

As for tire clearance, I ride ExiWolf 2.3s and have no issues. I would think you could go larger (albeit MK 2.4s would ride free of trouble as well). A lot of the 2.3s are not “true” 2.3s so you can get away with larger with little problems.

Yeah, my MUSS is also steel. I've ridden a PUSS and could have sworn that pink bike was steel too...

    yea, ALUMINUM alloy.
    It's a 7005 grade aluminum.
I've owned this bike for 4 years plus i had it welded when i cracked it, i know what my frame is made of
Not to mention i've been in manufacturing my whole life, metals are my business.

    Look at Easton's site. http://www.eastonbike.com/PRODUCTS/T...lite_race.html

I can take a picture of the giant sticker on my downtube that says what it is if you'd like

Back to the OP's question. I run 2.4" WTB tires on my DISS, had approx 1/8" clearance each side in rear. I think 2.4-2.5" would be the max reasonable tire width.

I would agree, as I stated I run 2.3s, and know that MK 2.4s fit also.
