    Problem: pedaling not smooth

Could I have incompatible gearing? IS it the tension? Bad Hub? What's happening it it keeps wanting to jump on the chain causing loudness. Could it be a non compatible chain?

Well, for me this spells upgrade! As mentioned in another thread, I would be telling my wife that I need a new crank and wheels due to the parts not working properly together. You need to get something with some King or Hope hubs and a new super light, SS specific crank set up!

Seriously, check out your alignment! #1 culprit. But we need to know what your set up is to really help.

If pedals not smooth then try sandpapering them. Start with 200 grits then graduate to 400 grits alternating with wet grits of 500 until going is smoothly. Coat with polyurethane until a light sheen is embarked upon.

Have you checked your chain line? 1/8" or 3/32" chain, ring or cog? Answer these questions, search this forum and you'll find the answer.
