    Post your SingleSpeed Victories

Can be anything relating to SS: a big climb, a race, a big descend... anything you finally accomplished on your trusty 1-speed.

For me, I have a short loop that seems to be all uphill (can that even be possible?) and my goal was to be able to do it all without stopping to catch my breath or spinning out in the gravel. Today I did it... and I'm not sure if I've done it entirely before.

Cascade Cream Puff 100 Mile Race... I've earned three CCP100 finisher's caps but only one while aboard a singlespeed. Hardest thing I ever did on a singlespeed... the event includes over 16,000' gain. Wanted to see if I could do it, glad I can say I did, glad it's behind me now.

Got 3rd place in my first SS race(30 miles). Apparently I scared off 1st and 2nd.

I will be racing in the Arizona Mountain Bike Series this year and I'm doing my first 24 hour Solo SS race this Saturday.

Rode "Ring The Peak" around Pikes Peak in a day with the SS crew here in the Springs - 85 miles from my front door, around, and back home. Lots of climbing. Lots of hiking (decided hiking trail, straight up). Saw bear tracks. Got good water from a trailside spring. Almost got hit by a major lightning storm. Had tons of fun.

    Can't wait for next year!

I cut my own hair once, then went for a ride on my SS.

I was also the first kid in 4th grade to have parachute pants... then I rode my SS 26 years later.
