    We the people ... Poll: Should I shave my legs?

    They're starting to look a little hairy.

    <img src="https://gallery.mtbr.com/data/mtbr/515/234043phur_1.JPG"border=5>

    Now that I really look at it, the whole bike could use some grooming.

    <img src="https://gallery.mtbr.com/data/mtbr/515/234043phur_2.JPG"border=5>

    <img src="https://gallery.mtbr.com/data/mtbr/515/234043phur_3.JPG"border=5>

    <img src="https://gallery.mtbr.com/data/mtbr/515/234043phur_4.JPG"border=5>

    What you'll need to make your own fur bike:

    A beater that you don't care about gluing fur to (SS, 'natch)
    About $5 worth of fur by the yard
    Spray adhesive
    Scissors
    Patience
    Beer
    Music

    I started out with Radiohead's "Hail to the Thief" and cold Bohemia beer, but once the alcohol and the spray glue kicked in, it was all about Bob Marley's "Babylon By Bus". Ire!

    Thanks to Donkey for the killer deal on the bars and the inspiration for a furry fixie

    HW

    As long as the hair doesn't get caught in the chain there's no need to shave.

    Keep 'em furry.
    You might even get some requests to ride it in parades and show it at art car/bike events!

    Shaving is overrated! Nothing wrong with a little fur!

    But don't ride that beast up here in Oregon, or you'll end up with a lot of dingleberries.

    We had a "potty patch" shaved on the butt of our big fuzzy dog. Maybe you could find a stylist willing to give your steed a similiar buzzcuttt.

    That gives me the inspiration I need to resurrect my beater fixie (the old nishiki that got upgraded to the current IRO.). I've got just about all the parts I'd need, except for wheels. IRO makes some pretty cheap fixed wheelsets...

    that thing is sweet. only in southern california can you have a bike like that! it would look like a wet cat in the rain.

    trust me, I looked. Red and day-glo green were also on the list but I went for what was in stock. Its a nice *safety* orange too - hard to miss.

    No rain days for this bike or it will look like JH's cat. So far the only drawback is after a fast descent I stop and cough up a hairball.

    Park pics

    I went to CP today specifically to take some pics of the giant orange toilet paper dispensers, but somehow ended up doing laps instead and only took one photo as an afterthought.

    It's really dangerous riding there now. Too many people wanting to frame the perfect shot, obliviously walking backwards into the roadway.

    Thanks for the compliment - I'm telling you, orange is the new pink. Christo obviously agrees.

    Nice! Glad to see those bars put to good use!

    I have to say....when you hinted at working on a donkey inspired project I figured you were working on a 29er or something...never did I imagine that you'd be taking the fur bull by the horns.

    You never cease to amaze. Truly.

    Cool but....

    ......don't get caught in the rain this weekend. If you do the weight of that thing will probably double.

    If this look ever gets boring, or you are riding to a punk show, you can always get some gel out and spike it!

    I had problems loading this thread for a few days, so this is the first time I've seen your 'legs'.

    It kinda reminds me of a puppet by Vizi or something I still have, it's bright blue and yellow and very hairy if not hairier.
    Like this but blue for white and yellow for black and mine has eyes.
