Pike RCT3 vs. Fox Float fork for SS revamp

Any SS feedback on running a Pike vs. Fox Float? I've always run Fox forks for SS because of the next to solid lock out. I have a Pike on another bike (Mojo 3) and it does't lock out quite as solid as the Fox.

I'd like to go with a Pike but concerned I'll get too much bobbing when climbing out of the saddle. Working on a SS rebuild, including a new slightly longer travel fork, any input appreciated!

I have lockouts on all my shocks (front and rear. Yes, I have a full suspension SS) and just never use them.

I recently went from a Fox Terralogic to a DVO Diamond. I was concerned about the DVO not having a lockout. I just run the low speed compression in its highest setting (6), and it provides a pretty good pedaling platform. There is still a bit of bob but not terrible. Iím a big fan of rigid and never used to be able to tolerate any pedal bob. But once I decided to ignore the little bit of bob and just ride the bike I donít notice it much.

Iíve never owned a lockout fork but I can see how it would become annoying in trails with quick ups and downs like I have. And at that point it ruins the vibe of SS anyway.

Fox for the lockout and IMO better performance, currently running a Fox 34 140mm

The few times I've ridden a Pike I was thoroughly unimpressed with the lockout. May have been a problem with the fork? I could still get it to use about half it's travel.

I agree the lockout on the Fox 34 is much stiffer in my experience. I actually ordered a 34 a while back but haven't installed it, too much fun rigid. I may put that fork on an upcoming Honzo ST build, we'll see.

    Full Sus 29er (Yuck)

Stop asking how much it weighs and just go ride it.
