    Paul's Melvin tensioner...anyone use?

I'm thinking of going to a Paul's Melvin, actually may try it both single and double. Any feedback? Anyone selling one or know of a cheaper version?

Is it going on a full suspension single speed?

I used one on my CrossCheck. I was running it 2x1. Works great and beautiful craftsmanship. That being said, it just didn't "feel" like my dedicated SS bikes.

Curious...why do you ask? I may be building up a FS SS next year and was keeping an eye on the Melvin as my tensioner. Do you have any experience with the Melvin in FS applications? Would love to hear if you do!

For FS SS, I've heard the few that have done it use a YESS tensioner.

    Yess

Here is the YESS, and it works great. 4 inches of travel on this one. If I remember right, it looks a lot like the Melvin (?), but has a little more tension built in. I don't know if this is good, as in tenser chainline, or bad, as in more friction.

The Paul adds noise, like most tensioners do, but it does allow for use on full squish. Allows enough chain to allow for the rear wheel travel.
