opinion needed on this bike (road, oy!)

i built up my last couple bikes (mt.) and allthough they're exactly how i want em', i'm sure it cost me quite a bit more doing it that way as opposed to buying one straight up.

anyways, i wanna try out the fixed road thing, give it a whirl for a bit. entry level bike, is all i need to feel it out.

so this bike, it's cheap and he's got alot. this thing seem to be worth the price?

I'm eyeing one up myself. It looks like a nice bike for sure. Brake-able if you go that way. Flip flop wheel. Nice enough parts.
    Just a regular guy.

Last summer I tried picking one of those up off of e-Bay. Every auction I tried to win, ended up getting won by a bidder that had just registered and had zero feedback, to push the price up over the $500 mark. If you're not prepared to bid over $500, don't bother bidding. I finally got fed up and picked up a Surly Steamroller off of e-Bay, and am glad I did. For what it's worth, those frames are identical to what you'll get on a Fuji track bike and several other brands too, so if you see any of those.
I gotta roll, can't stand still, got a flame in my heart, can't get my fill.

The Bianchi seemed like a good deal to me also. What kind of $$$ are they going for?

yeah i've heard of that too, what caught my eye on this one was the "buy now" price of $335. cranks are decent, frame looks fine and honestly i don't see a whole amount of difference in the low end frames as far as the kind of use i'm gonna be putting into them.

and yeah the flip flop hubs kind of a nice little extra. i dunno it's looking pretty good to me.

whats the price range on the bianchis?

edit: nm saw a couple posts sneak up before mine, thats a damn fine deal on the bianchi.

Missed the buy it now on this auction, and this is a different seller. For that price, you can't go wrong.

Looks good, or try a Mercier

You may want to check out the Mercier track bike sold by sportymama for $347 she usually has them listed. I got one a few weeks back and with a few upgrades here it is.
When I was shopping I saw some Windors but they were going for a little more. They are very similar bikes with nearly the same components. I've heard the Mercier is the same frame as the KHS Flight track bike.
