One tune that would rock you through the woods?

    Here's the idea.

We all ride different trails, parts of trails, combinations of trails etc.

Think of one of your favorite 3-5 minutes of trail.

Imagine that as you entered that section you would somehow trip LARGE, GIANT, yet hidden, SPEAKERS that would start pumping out ONE tune that would get you through that portion of trail... what would that tune be?

Yeah, I know you could put on your iPod, blah, blah, blah, wouldn't be as keen.

    Me...

"Wearing And Tearing" - Led Zeppelin

You buddy behind you would get his own tune.

    Create my new playlist...

Although Radiohead's "Jigsaw" and "anything by ISIS" would be high on my list as well, for a flowing ride I gotta go with 10,000 Days by Tool. The bass line has propelled me through wood many a time.
For more aggressive rides, no question it would be "Question!" by System of a Down.

Great stuff so far. I've added several songs to my collection. Personally, I don't listen to anything while I ride either...me like it quiet...crunch'n and breathe'n.. Just thought this would be a fun scenario.

Ever since I was climbing a nasty hill at about 3 AM in a 24 Hour solo race when “Crawling in the Dark” by Hoobastank comes through my earbuds, it’s been one of my favorites.

+1 For Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks"... that loping guitar makes for a great riding song.

I had Flobots' "Handlebars" stuck in my head during 24hrs of Big Bear this year... mostly the part towards the end of the song where it gets aggressive. Seemed to do pretty well.

Spoon's "Johnathan Fisk" is another one I enjoy on the bike.

I can't stand listening to music off road. But road riding or spin classes, there are two songs that fire me up.

Hellyeah, "You Wouldn't Know". Lyrics are 'you couldn't beat me, even if you wanted to...'

Joe Satriani, "Surfing With The Alien"

    Anything by Lucero
I kind of find it more about rhythm these days
then getting 'amped' on something agro. With
a slower steady song I can control my breath and keep
    more focus.

Good call on the Vandals cover The last dance at out wedding was the Vandals cover of "Goodnight, farewell" from the sound of music

I would say that despite my love of punk and metal I would go with Sigur Ros - Popplagio (live) from Hamia

Either this or this. Before clicking - make sure the amplifier is turned loud

But anything by Led Zeppelin will do!

Of course Led Zep would do the business pretty well ;-)

I´m sure this ´ld do it a little better for me on the singletrack
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPxGleTTvdE

And I´ve got quite good experince with some Jefferson Airplane stuff and all of the songs of the norwegian rock band My Midnight Creeps. Here is one great entry to their work:

The frontman Robert Buras is/was the guitarist of the certainly more famous Madrugada. Unfortunatly he lived and died the original way of rock´n roll...

Oops! I guess I'm not following the rules but my favorite singletrack loop is Tamarancho in Fairfax, CA and its 9 miles long, SOOO-- I can hear all these songs plus a few more and still be on my favorite trail.

I never listen to music while riding, but if I did it would be something something smooth and relaxed, nothing that really gets the adrenaline pumping. Gotta be loose and smooth if you ride rigid!

I'd probably listen to: Sunday Jen-Slackstring or Highs 2 Lows-Nujabes
