New question here. One piece Crank Bottom Bracket Question...

    Hey everyone,

I pulled an old bike frame out of the trash pile and am installing a new bottom bracket for the one piece crank. The goal is a single speed.

    here is the part:

My question is this...what is the large washer at the bottom leftfor? Is it merely a spacer, and where does it go?

I was told to install it how it came out of the box...but I can't remember how the washer was packed inside the box.

    all help is appreciated.

I do not know, but you'll probably be able to figure it out when you try to install it.

Why not just get an American to European converter and use a 3 piece?

maybe it is a spacer between the bb and chainring. but i am certain the other is a locknut for the non-drive side.
everything sucks but my vacuum cleaner.

well i already did install it without using the washer...and it seems to work fine... lol

but i'm just nervous knowing I had an extra part.

I've thought about getting the conversion for 3 piece cranks...but this is an extremely low budget, so I"m keeping the one piece...if I get more into things I would probably end up going the 3 piece way...
