Off the SS for a while...

I spent a bit of time this summer and most of the fall riding my SS 29er to get in shape for a trip to Mulberry Gap (a mountain bike getaway in the north Georgia mountains)......the SS really works the muscles so that long climbs feel easy when riding a geared FSR all day......however, I apparently over-trained and while I slowly broke my muscles in, the left leg socket on my hip has been stressed despite stretching.......I'll be off the bike for a few weeks, and off the trail for about a month while I let the cartilage heal.......hopefully, that heals it......

Really sucks. I ride SS more often than geared bikes. I rode 88 miles SS a few months back and the only thing that I noticed was that my tailbone was sore for a few days.

My right leg socket bothers me occasionally... that is from a hellacious crash ~5 years ago though.

Unfortunately, it's called "getting old" for me.........and it doesn't help that I am a school teacher so I am limited quite a bit during the school year on how much training I do.....but the hip is much better....
