    Norba SS

In the last decade has anyone seriously raced Norba XC races on a SS and put up a few good results? Just Curious. Also, does anybody have some info on the new SS category for the Nationals this year?

I don't recall if it was NORBA sanctioned or not but a guy I know and his SS team won the 24hrs of Pando on SS's vs. almost exclusively geared bikes. Its definately possible to put up good results.

The Texas TMBRA Spring Series added a SS class for a SS championship for the first time ever. Yesterday (2/16/04) was the first race. SS is running the same distance as Sport and gets to start first!! In past races there have been SSers that had faster times than the entire Sport class. The first race had 14 people...biggest group ever! In the NORBA National in Waco, TX SSers maybe required to run the Expert distance. So y'all come on down to Texas and race.

Yup, the NORBA race will be intense. Cameron Park can truly be HELL on an SS. Rough climbs, technical descents and a few fairly long flats where its easy to spinout.
Can't wait... hope to have my 1x1 ordered and built up by then... probably will be too busy helping with the race to actually race though. Oh well, guess I will just have to the bask in the glow of the pro riders
