noob to single speed's qusestion ?

Ok wile I'm not really a noobie to bikes I am pretty new to the single speed thing .
I took my single speed trail / jumping bike out for a nice spin down the bike path yesterday and about 1/2 way through the ride the muscle on the inside/back of my left knee starting hurting and kinda bulged out a bit ( weird ) and today it's really sore

So my question is how did this happen and what caused it ??

It seemed to happen after a good section of standing up a cranking on some tight single track , but wile seated it didn't hurt and seemed to take the pressure off that area of my knee

Some info about the bike : it's a jumping bike with really steep gearing 27/12
    the bike has 70/70 angles with a 15in seat-tube

Is it the bike or the gearing that put the stress on my knee ??

Is the seat-tube angle too slack to my riding position so it put's too much stress on my knee when standing up ??

Has anyone else experienced something like this ??

    Thanks
    Brad

not really a ss question, you might have better luck with an x-post in a broader forum..

but no, idk what that is. go to the doc. I doubt it is your gearing, although that is a bit steep.

I figured it out , the high gearing along with a slightly hight b/b height than what I as used too jsut strained my knee a bit . Doc looked at it and said it was ok the day after jsut kinda weird .

I already built mysleft a new frames with lower b/b problem solved
