    No Luck For Me

It was a perfect plan. The girlfriend was out to dinner with her family. The forecast was clean and the trails were dry. I was excited. I posted the ride on the local board and found two riding buddies for the evening. I left work early to install my new cog and half link got my bike primped with no issues. Bike is done, back pack is ready. Then the wind started gusting 40mph, the rain came down in sheets (enough to soak you on a walk to the car), the thunder started rolling and the lightening was more intense than it had been in a month. GREAT.
    Ride cancelled.
This wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't gonna be my first ride of the season that I had been fantasizing about all summer. I rode in the spring and then started having bad knee problems, took time to rest them, went to physical therapy, and got them to a decent point.
I'm bummed. Instead of riding I guess I get to go grocery shopping.

If you're already wet on the walk to the car . . .

. . . might as well get wet riding.

In 5 minutes it turned the lawn at my apartment into a muddy river coupled with thunder and lightning it makes for a dangerous ride. And at a low land place like this one, there is no rain riding. Also, I didn't want to hurt my knees by riding in slick conditions. \
    I know... excuses, excuses...
