Does not sound like a singlespeed with 3 gears.

I think it looks like the inner 3 rings from a 9- or 10-spd road cassette.

Hey you guys might be on to something!!! Multi gears on your rear wheel... could be big. Sounds tooo complicated, I don't think it will catch on or work well. Whats next? Soon you will see shock absorbers on bikes!!!!!

    more spy photos

*supposedly* this is straight outta the Shimano "Skunk Works" lab, aka XTR. It's rumored to fit on the same hub that some of us use now. It would still be singlespeeding because you'd only use 1 gear at a time, right? This'll make some of those climbs a LOT easier. Can't wait...

Wow, just think about this. You could put a couple of gears on the crank and multiply the gears up to 6! I thinks thatís right. Iíll have to do the math, do you think that could work? Iím getíin started on my 6 gear SS right away.

    Groundbreaking news.....

Man, why didn't I think of that!!!!

Maybe I can jump on the wagon and invent a device that will move the chain from one of the gears to another without having to get off the bike and move it manually??

Life is getting way to complicated now....

They don't work very well. Oh, and they're less fun. And they weigh more. Plus they're more expensive. Worst of all, they make people dependent.

Not sure they're even available anymore...

Still no pictures available, but this hot item was reported back in SSO #3

Dual Action Freewheel by ShitCo, LLC
Spins freely in both directions, no engagement necessary. Super speedy spinning action makes your friends think you can spin faster than Lance Armstrong. Great for those riders who think single speeding is really cool, but can't handle the pedaling. Gravity assistance (tm) makes the downhills as fast as coasting. Extra loud buzz let's everyone know you are coming. Available at all fine bike shops in the bin to the left of the mechanic's workbench.

Oh yeah, you are a groupie, right??? That explains all the scarring 'back there'. Not that I know or anything, I just heard about it on the internet. But now with HBFK, your cankersores have almost totally healed!

ha ha! Yo, the ENO is still "humming" along. I adjusted the V brakes 'back there' and it is SO much better.
