Very nice! I like how the colors are bold, yet subtle at the same time. Congrats.

Just curious why you went narrower on rim width? Wider rims let you run lower pressures and give a better tyre profile, in my opinion.

Well maybe you are right although my weight is 68 kg and riding mostly xc so riding 25 psi is ok fot me
Would like to change grips to beefier ones and maybe should put 2.35 front tire

Both of the new colors have looked better in the photos posted here than on the Kona website.

Mine says hello. Got mine down to 10.9kg with a carbon fork, seatpost and handlebar.

Silicone grips help with rocky descents.

    We the people ...

Wow 10.9 Kg that is awesome !
What chainring do you use ?
I found that around 27Km-per-hour is my top speed with original 32 front !
What grips did you buy ? Need beefier ones !
Also on downhill trails i dont count so much on the BB7 brakes Do you ?

    Esi chunky silicone grips.

I also replaced the brakes with XT hydraulics.

    Tubeless with Stan's stems.

Just wondering how the Unit is riding? Also what size is the rear axle?

It's riding wonderfully. I'm getting stronger and can climb better than ever.

The rear is a standard 135 QR.

you can swap out the sliders for 12x142 or one with a derailleur hanger.
    Rigid SS 29er
    SS 29+
    Fat Lefty
    SS cyclocross
    Full Sus 29er (Yuck)

Stop asking how much it weighs and just go ride it.

Thanks, ordered frame up should be here this week. Unfortunately few of my parts are a week or more away. Once built post some pics and thoughts. I was torn between the 2015 and 2016 wasnt sure about the steeper seat tube angle on the 16 but guess ill find out. Does anyone have weight on a stock complete setup?

From what I've read, and from playing with the bike before I took it apart, it should weight 28 - 29 lbs stock.

What color frame did you get?

Only now would that be considered a 'thin' rim. I assure you, wtb i23's are not thin rims.

The comment was referring to the OP's change from 25mm to 23mm internal rim width, thus 'narrower.'
