    My wife's first SS ride!

Well, a few weeks ago, I built up my wife's old Jamis as a SS, using an old Ultegra 600 rear der. as a tensioner. She's been a little hesitant to ride SS, since she hasn't had that much time on the bike off-road yet, but today was the day! We went to Penasquitos Canyon (for those of you in the SD area) and rode the fire road out and back. Relatively flat, but with some short, fairly steep climbs that are a bit of a challenge- especially for a first timer.
What can I say? She did awesome! She only had to walk the bike a couple of times, and that wasn't for lack of trying.
I can't tell you how proud I am. She's a trooper, and is starting to talk about getting some P.U.S.S. !
We're getting a new dig. camera this week, so I'll post pics of her ride soon!
