    My SS love (pics)

So I've been single speeding for over a year now when I converted my old Gary Fisher back in May of 2010. Here is my initial thread https://forums.mtbr.com/singlespeed/...ld-615642.html.

I live in the very flat city of Houston where riding a SS is so possible. Memorial trails just begs to be ridden by one (well to me at least). Since I converted I have not once for a day missed my old gears. It's transformed my riding and constantly pushed me to watch my line and keep up my momentum. So I just wanted to post up a few pics of my steed which has been so reliable for the past year and a half.

She's nothing too special component wise but I've had zero issues with anything and it's always a blast to ride.
    Thanks for looking!

    Looks good.

Have you had any slipping issues with that tensioner? I purchased the same one for my brother a few weeks ago and it slipped on him the other day. Curious if it was a common issue.

I have the same tensioner on my bike,no slippage..
I also have it pushing the chain up instead of down
    if that makes a difference..

I read about some people having problems with it but I can easily say that it has worked perfect for me. For a while I kept having to re-tension the chain but that was because I had a cheap stamped cog that wasn't perfectly round. I got a surly cog and that problem went away. The tensioner is quiet, easy to adjust, stays in place, easy to clean. And no I haven't had any slipping issues.

See I tried to push up instead but I have too much chain slack and it hits my frame. I would either have to change my gear ratio or install a half link. Since it aint broke dont fix it right?

That looks like alot of fun and what riding SS is all about! The beauty of simplicity...riding SS makes you feel 8 years old again. I like it and bless it.

I used to live in Spring about 3 years ago and rode Cypress trails all the time then. The trails were ok then I guess. I went back up there this last summer and wow they did a ton of maintenance and added so much mileage to the trails. Fast and with a great flow. Definitely very fun.

Cool! Haven't been on this site for a while since I haven't been SSing recently (due to transportation issues). I almost always have Saturdays off. Let me know next weekend you go and I would love to join.

Also I don't know any Houston area single speeders so it would be nice to meet some
