    My "sorta" new SS

I killed my Raleigh singlespeed last week riding home from work. The chainstay broke at the dropout.

Being cheap, I got one of the pricepoint Sette Reken frames and "moved" the parts over. I say "moved" because I also pulled some parts out of my box or from my broken geared bike. But nothing new other than the frame.

    Wow, it's great.

I chose not only to make it my commuter but to also make it a front range mountain rideable rig.

Gearing is 32-13 for commuting, I prefer 32-12 but didn't have another 12 cog that wasn't worn out. Also had a 21 tooth cog so I made the mountain mode a 32-21....maybe too easy, if so, I might put in an 18. I'm kinda weak so I'm thinking that easier gear will be better.

For the swap I have a four link chain with a quick-link in my pack. Snap in the chain and move over the idler. Ready to ride.

Another change I made was to put on a mechanical front disc that I had in my parts box. I also put on a fox vanilla fork I had instead of using the manitou fork.

Going to ride it to work tomorrow then take it on the mountain tomorrow night.

    P.S. It's not really a singlespeed.

You think if everyone on the SS forum asked nicely they'd make a SS Reken option? I'd love a cheap Al hardtail to compliment me rigid steel.

    Great bike though.
