    My new custom. (semi-O.T.)

For all of you struggling w/ wait times for custom builders..try this one on for size.
I ordered a new surfboard from my shaper of 8 years. I've always had to wait (3 months at least) for a board...but the finished work has always been worth the wait. This board you see here was picked up yesterday and ordered April of 2003! that's right.. 11 months for 1 board. My shaper is a joke of a business man. In fact this is the 3rd board he shaped for me. The first two blanks he shaped either turned yellow or warped since they sat so long at the glasser or in transit.
So next time you worry about waiting 2 months for that fresh metal, remember me and the 11 months of anguish.

    hope you enjoy it

closest i've ever got to surfing is owning "point break" on dvd (insert appropriate ridicule here).

seems like it would be awesome, though. best wishes that it was worth the wait.

    the 50 year wave, eh?

surfing is truly sweet since it's soooo simple.

just a wetsuit and a board.

then it's you and the creation. the whole goal is working with it better and better.

it's an entirely different approach mentally than the bike since the canvas is always changing...
