My 1st Singlespeed and a little bit of mystery.

Bought her from Ebay for $50.
KHS Montana Sport. I'm guessing 1995 or older.
Spent about $150 more (limited budget).
After taking off all the stickers. The top tube is stamped with the Alure logo made by Schwinn . Similar to this bike >> http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=307130
    Here she is:
    *spoke guard gotta go

Is that thing fixed or does it just have no rear brake? Looks sweet all the same.

Took the pics after a ride so bike is a little dirty. I like the rear u-brake, gives it kinda of nice rear end look. Ya I know metal spoke guard gotta go. Just don't have the right tool at the moment.

I'm not sure what brand to call the bike now.
KHS Montana or Schwinn Alure? I always have to explain it to other folks when they ask about my bike.

    1. Put wider bars on there. Wider is better.

    2. Ditch the spoke protector. There's no need.

    3. Run the tensioner in push up instead of pull down. Better yet, put a rigid tensioner on there in push up. No need for springs on a SS.

    4. I love the old school u-brake on there, though I hated them in the shop.

    5. The seat looks really nice.

Great ideas. Should more have more time to work on it in the summer time. Currently enjoying her as my city commuter.
