    Moto Outcast 29r Sizing

Ready to purchase a Motobecane Outcast 29r from BD, but am unsure on the sizing for a 29r. I am 5' 8" tall with a 29" inseam. I currently ride a 16" Giant 26r and have acceptable stand over on that, but wouldn't want less.

I am concerned the 15" would be slightly too small and the 17" slightly too big.

Are you looking to buy from bikes direct? If so, they have a sizing chart where they list stand over height.

Is 29" your true inseam or your pant inseam? If it is your pant, your true inseam is likely a bit longer, in which case you will probably be in 17" territory. Also, 15" seems too small for someone who is 5'8".

My wife is 5'2" and she rides a 15.
    Mind your own religion.

A 15 seems way to small for a 5'8 person to me too.

From the geometry charts, the main triangle is very similar to the Deadeye I purchased. I'm close to your size, about 5'-9" and I take ~32" pants, the 17" is comfy. It LOOKS like the Outcast has a slightly longer wheelbase, size for size, so perhaps the 15" wouldn't be too cramped for you, but I wouldn't be too worried the 17" will be much too large. The finer aspects of the fit can also be tailored a little, with stem and seat adjustment.

So... I got the 15. Fits about the same as my 16" 26er. The 17 would have been too big.

    Solid bike for the money.
