Mind if i show you my bike??

Folks, after seeing all the sweet rides on the board, i have taken a few photos of my ride. Hope you like it. Not seen one on here before... Its a bit grubby as i've only just hosed it down after the morning ride.

I'll have to take a pic of the essential Fastfreddy topcap (thanks again Fred!) that makes it special.

Yes. They attach to the frame with steel chainring bolts!
The frame originally had vertical dropouts, but i managed to pick up some custom made horizontal dropouts (www.thecycleshed.co.uk., Ta Gill) and just swap them over.
    Works well.

    Pete.

    Yup,
Just a bog standard shimano xt. Without the Surly tensioner it still isn't secure enough!

I've got a King SS hub waiting to be built into a rear wheel at my LBS at the moment, so as soon as its done then the current wheel is relegated to the shed!

    Sweet! Stiff?

It looks like a sprinters dream. Pace makes some nice stuff. I'd love to get my hands on a pair of their rigid forks.

(same phaty from the singletrack forum i assume?)

Mr Mtnpdlr.com, Quite stiff, but the seatpost is just flexy enough to make it comfortable. I'm not quite clydesdale, but i do like a nice stiff frame when im honking up the climbs.

Pete I hope you don't mind if I hitchhike your thread a little - but I think our american friends don't know PACE that well.

    The newer one?

Go to the PACE website - to be fair I have to say that PACE had some issues with the suspension forks in the past. Maybe Pete can say something about the 2004-versions!?

I used a 1993 fork for 6 years (!!!) and just loved it!
