    Maths question, gear ratio, help!

    Hi there, trying to get my chain length spot on. Was using 35/19 for a while which had the wheel sllightly further back than I like, but it was ok. Changed to 32/21 for a really hilly ride the other day, like to finalise the gearing somewhere in the middle, and keep the 21 at the back (the chainring need replacing anyway). So heres the question;

    How much will my chainstay length shorten from 32/21 to 34/21, because if its too much and I have to lengthen the chain 2 links I won't have enough dropout to get tension.

    Hope that made sense, this is totally beyond me!

    cheers, Greg
