    Losing tension after each ride

I notice after each ride on my 2013 monocog that the chain is more slack at the end of each ride than the beginning. So I retention it and same thing next time out. What gives? I have the tugs that came with the bike and I tighten everything down good and tight, yet the chain is still sloppy by the end of a ride. Short rides too 6 miles.

Wonder if could be because I've changed the chainring and purchased new wheels/freewheel as well. Though I only had a couple hundred miles on the chain, so I wouldn't think that would be the issue.

What are you securing your axle with? Some swear but nut style and others XT style QR. I run 9mm XT style Crank Bros skewer on my Jabber which is notorious for creeping without due to dropout style. With the CB-no creep in over 200 miles since last set.

It might simply be a crappy chain. I once had a Wipperman Connex that did the same. Replace it with a KMC Z610HX and see if it helps.

I'm running phil wood hubs. As solid as the hubs are I'm sure the bolts they come with are more than adequate to hold the rear wheel solid. Ill try putting a new chain on and see if that helps. I have one just haven't bothered with it since this one isn't stretched. But if is a cheap chain no doubt. I have a kmc something or other still in the box!

I have a Gravity G29 SS and have the exact same problem. It's a bolt on rear hub with redline tensioners on both sides. On my last ride out, I put a mark on the frame and the tensioner to see if by some means the tensioner was moving, and it is not. I've checked play in the BB as well as the rear cog. Everything is fine. The only thing I've not done is tried a new chain. I just couldn't imagine that I would be putting enough power into the pedals to stretch a chain over the course of a 5-6 mile ride. I'm running a KMC Z-410 chain.

I'm having similar issues with the same chain, I thought it would get better after breaking in but it just seems to keep stretching. I only have about 250 miles on it and have needed to re-tension after every 3-4 rides (50-60 miles) since it was new. My frame has sliding DO's with lock screws so I know they are not sliding forward and causing the chain to loose tension. I'm very religious about keeping the chain clean and lubed so a lack of maintenance is not the culprit here either... I'm beginning to think a different chain is in order.

Single speeds aren't porn stars. A little bit of chain droop is natural. Is the chain skipping or falling off?

the kmc 710 is the new chain still in the box. The chain doesn't skip nor does it fall off. I just thought if was odd it gets loose. A little loose is better than a little tight I suppose! I mean its not slapping the chain stay, and far tighter than any geared bike! so no real issue then.
