    looking for wheelset on a budget

    i am building a surly 1x1 and am in need of a wheelset on a budget of 150 to 200 bucks. i would like to be able to run at least 2.4 tires. any suggestions?

    i ride xc singletrack. no big drops... i ride hard and a lot. 3 to 4 times a week.

    i've looked at those rims and it seems that most of the negative reviews were from people treating xc rims like all mountain rims. i think they might just work and that is definitely the best price i've seen for them... thanks.

    i would have gone with bonty dusters and deore hubs.
    i think it would fit ~200$

    I can vouch for these,my brother runs these on his One-On Inbred. Strong for an XC wheel, he's a big boy and after riding these for three month they're still true and straight. 2.4 tires??? the biggest he's run is 2.35. I have a Surly 1x1 and thought about these but ended up buying Surly hubs and Rhyno lite rims because I wanted dedicated SS hubs. Good luck on your build

    i originally thought i would go for surly singlespeed hubs but they are pricey and i can take spacers, etc... off of an old wheel.

    i still considering other options on wheelsets, i just don't think i've seen as good of a deal as the sos rims and xt hubs for 99.
