Looking new BB for Kona Unit

    Hi
What will be the best cost effective BB for my SSR Kona Unit 2014 ??
    My destroy after 6 month.
Do you think that BB have a shorter life at SSR vs FS ??

(Sory for any mistake or mistype)
    Thanks for help

is this your exact bike? KONA BIKES | 2014 BIKES | TRAIL 29" HT | UNIT

looks like it requires an FSA Mega Exo bottom bracket. I think you can get one that would work with that from Chris King or Enduro.

on the other hand, those bearings are very serviceable. have you tried popping the seals off, cleaning them out, and re-packing the grease?

Not sure what you mean with SSR and FS, but my 2012 Kona Unit has a standard 73 mm BSA bottom bracket and works fine with a cheap BB like Shimano SM-BB51.

In fact, the FSA Mega Exo originally fitted to my Unit died one day and I replaced it with a used Shimano SM-BB51 I had taken off another bike. I ordered a Shimano SM-BB80 BSA 68/73 mm to replace the worn SM-BB51, but I have never gotten around to fitting it because the SM-BB51 just keeps working.

    +1

I had a 2013 and swapped out the FSA BB for a Shimano and worked great.

    Hi
    Thanks
My bike are Kona Unit 2014.
    SSR = Single Speed Rigid
FS = Full suspention (front and rear shocks)
I am not tried popping the seals off, cleaning them out, and re-packing the grease yet.
I only take out the cranck cleanend grease and insert it back in.

try servicing the bearings for now and just replace the BB with a Shimano/FSA compatible BB next if that does not work.

Just a warning, a FSA crank may or may not fit a Shimano BB. There is a slight tolerance difference.

My 2014 unit crank would not fit a shimano b/b. Raceface b/b worked.

That's odd because both the FSA Megaexo and the Shimano SM-BB51 are designed to work with 24 mm axles. I had a perfect fit, tight, but not too tight, when switching from FSA to Shimano bearings.
