Be warned, you will soon forget about geared bikes, lol.

That was my first SS also back in the early 2000's. 6 SS later and now have a custom Ti frame. Nothing like riding SS, very addicting.

    Have fun, nice bike.

Nice! Sliding dropouts on the rear wheel make life easy.

I went out for my first ride today and had a lot of fun. For the most part the single gear was fine for most of the trail. I found myself spinning out in a couple of the faster sections of the trail, and there were a couple of hills that I had to hop off at the very top. Hopefully with a little more time on the bike I will get the timing figured out on how to get to the top of every climb.

The ride was very different from what I'm used to, my other bike is a Specialized Stumpjumper FSR, 29er. I could really feel every bump on the trail, especially the quick, stuttering sections of the trail. I think riding the tires at lower pressure would help a little and I'm sure I will adjust to picking better lines on the trail as well.

All in all a great first ride.

Awesome! MC flight was my first SS 29er. The sliders were my favorite feature.
