Light stems & SS bar torque?

I started riding SS only several months back, and so far so good. I don't expect to race SS class, but I hope that riding this bike will yield stronger geared-bike performance.

I just picked up one of these:

It's certainly lighter than I'd expected, and the steer tube clamp surface area is ~8mm shorter in stack height than my other stems. It's a weight weenie stem, but it looks well made and happens to be the exact dimensions I want for this bike.

Wondering about the durability & flexiness of this piece, with specific consideration to handle bar torque while climbing. I'm not a climbing beast (yet ), but my bars are 700mm wide, and I tend to be stubborn on the steeper stuff; I earn the E for effort. Is this an issue, or do light stems usually flex &/or fail due to downward forces caused by hard or imperfect landings? This is on a big-wheeled hard tail XC bike, that will see no more than 12" drops from roots.

I don't think you have to worry. Unless you're one of these guys.

Syntace limits their F99 (that's right, 99g) stem to 61cm bars. That little tidbit probably doesn't help but there you go anyway.
