Lessons Learned from Pedro's Fest 05

    First Lesson Learned:

Unplug Niterider light from battery BEFORE stuffing in bag for trip home. The first 3.5 hours in the car smelled funny. Kept checking the fluids in the car, couldn't figure it out. Stopped for dinner, came back out and the interior of the car was filled with smoke.

Pull the (now half of a) backpack out of the tailgate, grabbed the extinguisher out of the car and fired away. Damage done: 1 Niterider dual beam, toast, 1 REI internal frame pack, toast, 1 sleeping bag, toast, 1 Mountain Hardwear jacket, toast, various clothes, toast, stinky car, $30 at the laundry-mat trying to get the stink out of EVERYTHING.

Kinda fun trying to put out a fire in front of an Indian restaurant while diners are staring out the window...

    Second Lesson Learned:

Do not use a hollowed out watermellon for a helmet when you forgot yours at home. These were our neighbors at the campsite.

    Was fun all in all...

SS content, my GF and I both rode our singlespeeds all weekend...

I too have forgotten to unplug, luckily figured it out before it got to the point yours did, just roasted some pants. That second pic is to GD funny, the dude looks messed.
Gone are the days we stopped to decide,
    Where we should go,
    We just ride...
