Nah. The way you've got your legs coiled, I can see where you would extend your legs to push the rear wheel down while pulling the front up. At least, that's how I used to ride drops like that.

I can't believe you sacrificed your personal safety that way, Aquaholic. You could have burned up into a BBQ'd human. And the tires... think of the tires.

So politically incorrect. So damaging. They should revoke your rider's license!

No kidding! Have you had a ride where you've experienced a really close call, and it scares the crap out of you? You probably can't see it in the vid, but when I got to bottom of the ravine, I threw the bike down and layed there for a few minutes. My heart was pounding out of my chest.

I should have purchased a lottery ticket o the way home.

    Backstory

The thing about this drop, is that it is towards the end of a long ride. It's very remote and there's typically a strong, sustained headwind of 15-20 mph, coming off of the lake.

I first hit this drop 2 years ago, on my hound. Last year, I was on a Sultan, but had fork issues..so no flying. This year, the winds were calm all day, and I was marinating on this thing all during the ride.

The guy who went before me, came off hot and had a bad landing, resulting in an OTB. My plan was to hit it on the soft side, so that I would be able to land with manageable speed and not get hammered on the long runout. There's 2 large boulders on the runout, that need to be threaded.

The flaw with my flightplan, was that I hit it too softly, and the rear end of my bike got kicked. I had just enough time in the air to realize that I was going to die.

    WHEW!

Too bad he couldn't have kept riding it while holding that exact position for a couple dozen yards or more.

Actually a very nice save, Aqua. How badly snapped is your neck?

Thank goodness for rigid forks; their lack of dive has saved me from some very poor nose-down attempts at larger drops

The run out on that one is impressively long and steep. Too bad there isn't another big drop or two along the way

Most every ride, because I suck.

I did like the collapse at the bottom of the hill.

Being a human lawn dart sucks. Lip was torn down pretty good requiring stitches inside and out. Still have lower back pain daily from this wreck last season.
