    Smile Lawlers Logs

My son and I rode Lawler trail yesterday, there's more pics on the Oregon forum. I really enjoyed these two logs at the bottom. The 1FG didn't crack or fail. Lot's of blow downs but a good time indeed! Lawler is one of my favorites.

... I am guessing they afford some protection from ivy, sticks etc, keep the muscles warm, keep the cramps away ... we have a lot of ivy on singletrack here ... I should try that ... beats wearing full leg covering, or spreading ivy block (God only really knows what it does).
It would be nice if they were available in some of the various skin tones. Just kiddin!
    Peace.

Those are "Gaitors," most commonly used for various winter snowsports to keep snow out of your boots.

I'd say to keep the Poison Oak off would be a good guess, we have some vicious oak here in Oregon, I have had it since february.

I like wearing these for protection from all the vegetation I ride through. In the winter they help keep my socks nice and clean, I also discovered they made good shin guards. I run open pedals with nasty teeth.

They are made by OR (outdoor research) and cost about $40, I really like them. I think they look cool too. I don't usually wear riding shorts because they look goofy in the woods. I don't need a padded crotch when I'm standing up all the time. Love my gaitors though.

Heck, Tom! Those logs are not even on the trail! They are on the road at the bottom. I love Lawler, too. Have not ridden it in several years though.

This hollow log is my favorite log on Lawler, I always stop and peak inside. Shane suggested taking a pic so the flash would light up the inside.

The only other log to ride is this little shorty, the log in the meadow is off the Lawler trail.
