    Kona A Single Speed

Has anyone built one of these, or do you know of someone who has?

Just wondering how well the design is dailed in and what, if any problems they've had. Don't seem to hear much about them and I would think it would have a following by now.

    Thanks,

    Russ

Hey Russ the KONA A rocks I bought one when KONA sold the bike complete in 2003 it does everything great. It also puzzles me that this bike is not talked about more. I love it! let me know I'll send you pics if you want.

    Rear shock??

What rear shock are you using? I have a buddy that rode one with a Fox float (non stable platform)and he said it po-go'd like a prom date after midnight.

If you do it, plan on stable platform.

The RP3 and the inertia fox 100x are great forks and shock for this...

frame. I rode the proto type with a normal shock in the rear and yes it pogoed like crazy. But I have the newer frame with the set up mentioned above and it works like a charm. On logging roads climbing it is a rigid bike and when you need the suspension it's there for you. I have had no problems with the bike at all. I will ride mine at the Cream Puff this year. I did it last year on the unit but I'm looking forward to doing it on the A.

My bad, it's not 15 pounds; it's around 5 depending on the size.

According to Bikeman the shock is not included, is that true?
