It's funny how much discussion I've seen about this frame, but this is actually the first pic of one built up that I have ever encountered. Anyway, it looks hot. How long have you had it?

    re kona a

About a year. Its really fun to ride makes me feel like im a little kid on a bmx bike. I have a ride here in San Diego I always do called Marthas Grove I only finish the ride 5-7 minutes faster on a fully geared bike. The real trick was finding the right gearing basicly I have a in shape gear, and a out of shape gear. but remember all SS are three speeds

    1. in the saddle
    2. out of the saddle
    3. pushing!

I really liked the A I had 2 yrs ago....if Kona would make a "29er A" I bet they'd sell them so fast they'd not be able to keep up with demand....I'd order at least 2 of them probably..

Related: the LBS near me has an A for sale by mechanic...frame only, never built, 2005....I think...

Well, I wouldn't get two, but I'd be up for one for sure. With the verticle wheel path(or mostly verticle) seat tube clearnace shouldn't be an issue. Give me one with sliders so I have an option to run gears if I want, and I'll be a very hapy camper.
    Just a regular guy.

Hey check this out, if you hadn't already... in Kona's '05 frame section, note the "A" frame now has the same sliders that they use on the "Unit". Would make it one step closer the that sweet mama-jama rig you were talkin' about!

dezee why are you selling that thing?

It looks brand new and like a nice ride. Do you just not like single speeding?

Love SS'ing. Just purchased a 29'er SS! The ride is great. Out of the saddle or seated workes great.

Get someone to make new dropouts for the '05 frame to fit 29" wheels. Mount a WB 100mm fork and go for it.
