King Kogs / Hubs (avail in Aust?)

anyone else make cogs compatible with the King SS hub? The King Kogs are hard to find in Oz. If nothing else I may have to mailorder one from the US. Thanks.

If you're using a cassette hub any cog should fit. On my SunRace JuJu's and XMax cassette hubs I have used Novatech, King, Boone and Endless with no fiting or other issues.

Remember that wider is better if you're using an Al or Ti cassette body.

Surly cogs are definitely available down here.
Contact VentanaOZ as I know he was planning to use them on both his and Singlespeedscott's new Ventana El Commandante's.

Surly cogs are also available through the large supplier dirt works/dirt jerks. Your LBS may be reluctant to try that route but the last one I ordered (for my king hub, alum driveshell, you'll have no problems) came in two days and was $51. Less than half the retail cost of a king kog through the official distributor. www.aspirevelotech.com , however, I have found to be the best place to get King stuff. The guys there are awesome, prices are great (cogs are $35us) and they absorb some of the shipping at that as well. Stuff comes fast and hassle free.

    Good luck !

    Go to your LBS

If they can't/won't get you a cog, go somewhere else.

If you're in Melbourne, try Spoke(n) in the city. They have a bunch of Spot frames hanging around, so surely they can fix you up with an SS cog. Brunswick Street Cyclery, on, um, Brunswick St also tend to have a bit of SS stuff. I've also seen Surly hubs & othe SS bits at Bikenow in South Melbourne.

cool, I'll give them a couple of days to come up with one. I'm near Sydney but have Melb contacts if I need to get one from down that way.

I buy my king stuff off ebay, from aspire velotech. they ship for free to NZ/Aussie, and ship fast. My guess is by you asking where to get them you're not buying of a LBS (well, not your LBS anyway), so I think this guy would be a good place to try.

I havent looked into other cogs for my ss king hub yet, still havent even got a rim for it.
