    Just wondering

I have a 1991 yeti ultimate and i was thinking about giving it the single speed treatment. Has anyone ever seen one done up as a single speed. If so please share to give me some idea on how you like it im only doing it because im getting tired of trying to track down period correct parts as i only have the frame no fork or components.

Why not give it a go yourself? It'll be minimal cost and what? 30 min job?

That bike frame would make a great singlespeed since the chainstay is so high and out of the way you can run a ghost ring, ie no silly normal tensioner, if you can't find a magic gear you like.
Buy a f-ing bike maybe you wouldn't be fat

I would LOVE to have that frame set up as a single speed.

That frame needs to be ridden and enjoyed.

Edit. I just did a google image search for "yeti ultimate single speed" and about 3 pics in is one - and the link comes back somewhere on mtbr.

I'm on my cell or I'd post it for you.

That frame begs for a belt drive setup.

I have not ridden this bike but my buddy who has one told me that his ultimate is one of the stiffest steel frames he has ever ridden the tubes are very large diameter. But again i have not ridden it so we will see.
