I've bought a single speed frame!

I've gone and done it. I've bought one. I've wanted to for a long time.

Amazingly it's nearly exactly the same, geo wise, as my geared hardtail.

So I've bought a Cotic Simple. Steel frame, track ends. What do I need in terms of the rear axle, chain tugs etc. The rest is fine. I've got basically everything but slightly unsure of the set up at the rear end.

    Thanks folks.
    Ross

I'd use a 10x135 bolt on SS hub (like a Hope, or Surly, etc.) and probably a chain tug for good measure. good sturdy setup for track ends.

    Lots of info here.

Stop asking how much it weighs and just go ride it.

When using the Hope bolt-on singlespeed hub, you can do without tugnuts.
Just remember to carry a reel 8mm allen key, the 8mm bit on your multitool won't do the job.

For now I am going to be using my current geared wheelset with spacers and a surly cog. But I'm getting a new 10mm bolt thru axle for the rear wheel.

So apparently it's really hard to find 10mmx135mm axle in the U.K. Superstar are out of stock. Everywhere seems to be out of stock of the DT Swiss version. Anyone got anything to sell?
